Press Release: Common Council Candidate Alex Brower Lays Out Plan for Constituent Services

For Immediate Release: Common Council Candidate Alex Brower Lays Out Plan for Constituent Services

For District 3 Common Council Candidate Alex Brower, serving constituents will be a top priority as an alderman. Brower’s campaign has outlined at least five ways in which Brower will focus his constituent services efforts while on the Common Council.

“The Common Council, and Milwaukee city government as a whole, should serve the people, not the race to profits,” said Brower. “The office of Alderman is a huge responsibility, requiring attention, service and leadership skills to make a better city for working people. I have over a decade of experience leading and organizing our neighbors in Milwaukee. I will make sure District 3 residents have their voices heard and I will represent their voices at City Hall.”

As Alderman, Alex Brower will:

  • Issue a Quality of Life Survey for every resident of District 3 to learn about how they experience living in our neighborhoods and what they would like to see happen in our district and the City of Milwaukee.  The Quality of Life Survey will be rolled out within the first two months of taking office and the results will be used to guide the work of the office.
  • Hold Town Hall Meetings at Least Once a Month to hear from District 3 residents and give updates on business the Common Council is considering.  These Town Halls will be in-person/virtual hybrid events and will be held at venues that are accessible to all residents.  The first Town Hall will be held within a month of taking office.
  • Launch a Pothole Patrol program where we diligently work to record, report and ensure the city fills every pothole in the district. Neighborhood Leaders will coordinate these activities.
  • Appoint Neighborhood Leaders who can act as liaisons between the office of Alderman Alex Brower and the various neighborhoods and communities within District 3. These volunteer Neighborhood Leaders will establish relationships with their communities and help their neighbors reach our office and other city services, coordinate mutual aid efforts in the district and lead the Pothole Patrols.
  • Respond Promptly to Phone Calls and Emails so that District 3 is served properly. Alex Brower is committed to being the most accessible Alderman on the Common Council.

Once in office, Alex Brower will diligently address these District 3 priorities and the citywide issues facing Milwaukee as outlined in his platform.

“We need a responsive Alderman,” said Brower. “Expect these actions and more if you elect me to serve you on the Common Council. I am ready to act and ready to lead.”

The Sewer Socialists were politicians who fought for improved infrastructure and city services in Milwaukee from the early 20th century to 1960. Brower, himself a socialist and endorsed by Milwaukee Democratic Socialists of America, will work in the spirit of these politicians to improve infrastructure and create efficient, transparent and accountable local government.

The special election for Milwaukee Common Council District 3 will be held on April 1, 2025. Early voting has already begun. To find your polling location, visit myvote.wi.gov. To find out more about the Brower campaign, please visit alexbrowerforcommoncouncil.org
